Gyeongbokgung Palace has nighttime openings twice a year, in the first and second half of the year. The nighttime opening for the second half of the year starts in September. It’s always competitive to get tickets, so you must book in advance!

The nighttime opening of Gyeongbokgung Palace in the second half of 2023 runs from September 1st to October 29th. The opening hours are from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm, with last entry at 8:30 pm. Make sure to arrive early to ensure entry. Note that the palace is closed for nighttime viewing on Mondays and Tuesdays. (Also, October 4th, a Wednesday, is an alternative holiday.)

Currently, it’s not the booking period, so the screen displays as such. The nighttime opening is divided into two phases. The first phase starts booking on August 25th at 10 am, and you can choose a date between September 1st and 30th. The second phase starts booking on September 25th at 10 am, and the entry period is from October 1st to 29th.

The ticket price for the nighttime opening of Gyeongbokgung Palace is 3,000 won, which I think is quite affordable. If you wear traditional Korean attire (Hanbok), entry is free. You can purchase up to 4 tickets per ID. Set your alarms for 10 am on the 25th and make sure to purchase!
